NHL hockey team New York Islanders invited me to their hotel in Boston to entertain the entire team, before playing against the Boston Bruins. For an encore, team captain Anders Lee loaned me his hockey stick, and I used it as an impromptu magic wand to locate the *precise* number of cards he requested.

I had never touched a professional hockey stick before, and they brought his gear directly from the arena just as my show was ending. I was able to pull off my hockey stick magic trick with zero rehearsal time. He shoots… he scores!

The event was a Mom’s Trip — all the players’ mothers were traveling with the team. I performed for the entire NY Islanders team, their mothers, as well as general manager, coaching staff, and physicians.

My favorite part of the show was seeing all the players’ smiling faces — and realizing that around 30 percent of them were missing teeth!
